1:1 English Tutor (Perfect for Former Teachers)
Location: Nottingham (NG5)

Have you recently stepped away from the classroom but still have a passion for teaching?
Looking to make a real difference – without the pressure of lesson observations, marking piles, or endless meetings?

We’re seeking experienced, caring, and committed individuals to join our team as 1:1 English Tutors. This role is ideal for ex-teachers who want to continue inspiring young minds while enjoying a better work-life balance.

What You'll Do:

  • Deliver engaging, tailored English tuition on a 1:1 basis

  • Support learners across KS1, KS2, KS3 and/or GCSE levels (age group flexible depending on your experience)

  • Help build students' confidence and skills in reading, writing, and literacy

  • Create a positive, supportive learning environment

  • Work flexibly around your schedule

✅ What We're Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS)

  • Strong relevant experience

  • Sound knowledge of the UK English curriculum

  • Excellent communication and rapport-building skills

  • A warm, patient and encouraging approach

  • A valid DBS (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
