Job description

A friendly and welcoming school in North Somerset is looking for an experienced Year 6 teacher to join them immediately until the end of the academic year. The school is an academy rooted in its core values of enjoyment, success, respect, community, responsibility, and compassion.

The school believes in providing a rich and engaging curriculum that inspires every child to achieve their best. They place a strong emphasis on creating a positive school experience, ensuring students feel motivated and supported as they prepare for their next steps in education. Therefore, you will need to be passionate about tailoring the curriculum to meet the needs of all children.

  • This role will require a strong Year 6 teacher with excellent behaviour management skills who can maintain consistency and provide a nurturing environment for pupils in their final months of primary school. You will have dedicated PPA time each week to plan and prepare engaging lessons. A teaching assistant will also support you in delivering these lessons.

The successful candidate will have:

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS),
  • Experience working as a teacher within the last 10 years,
  • ECTs are welcome to apply for this role,
  • The ability to differentiate content effectively for pupils with SEND,
  • Strong behaviour management skills,
  • The ability to use formative and summative assessments to ensure pupil progress.

To work with Teaching Personnel and clear the vetting process, you must have a Child Workforce DBS subscribed to the Update Service. Full support will be provided if you need to apply for a new DBS check at a cost of £49, with an annual subscription fee of £16 for the Update Service.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
