Year 5 Teacher – Maternity Cover
Location: Worthing
Start Date: March (Full academic year with potential for extension)

About the Role:
Teaching Personnel is working with a fantastic primary school based in Worthing, seeking an experienced teacher for a Year 5 maternity cover position. The role will start in March and run for the full academic year, with the possibility of extension for the right candidate.

This full-scale teaching role involves taking charge of a Year 5 class, which includes planning exciting, engaging, and fun lessons, marking work, and attending school activities such as meetings and parents' evenings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons for Year 5 students
  • Mark and provide feedback on student work
  • Attend school meetings, parents’ evenings, and extra-curricular activities
  • Ensure a positive and supportive classroom environment
  • Support and cater to the diverse needs of students, including SEN support

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching KS2 (particularly Year 5)
  • A fun and engaging teaching style
  • Strong knowledge of the UK Primary Syllabus
  • Excellent understanding of SEN and experience supporting students with SEN
  • High-level behaviour and classroom management skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (can assist with this)
  • Recent Safeguarding Training
  • Must have a UK address and the right to work in the UK

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
