Year 2 Teacher – Thornton
Location: Thornton
Start Date: After February Half Term – Until Summer
Pay Rate: Competitive, dependent on experience
Contract: Full-time, Fixed Term
Teaching Personnel is looking for a passionate and dedicated Year 2 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Thornton from after February half term until the end of the summer term. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact in a supportive and engaging learning environment.
The Role:
- Teaching a Year 2 class, ensuring pupils remain engaged and making progress.
- Delivering creative and effective lessons in line with KS1 curriculum expectations.
- Supporting pupils in their transition to Key Stage 2.
- Tracking and assessing progress in preparation for end-of-KS1 assessments.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and support staff to create an inclusive and positive classroom environment.
The Ideal Candidate:
✔️ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
✔️ Experience teaching KS1, particularly in Year 2
✔️ Strong knowledge of phonics, early literacy, and numeracy
✔️ Ability to create an engaging and nurturing learning atmosphere
✔️ Enthusiastic, adaptable, and committed to supporting children’s development

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
