Job Title: Fluent Welsh-Speaking Teaching Assistant – Cross Hands Area
Location: Cross Hands, Wales
Salary: £89.38
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm

Are you fluent in Welsh and passionate about supporting students in a classroom environment? We are looking for a Fluent Welsh-Speaking Teaching Assistant to join our team in the Cross Hands area. If you have a strong command of the Welsh language and are eager to make a positive difference in the lives of students, this role could be the perfect fit for you!

About the Role:

As a Fluent Welsh-Speaking Teaching Assistant, you will provide vital support to students, particularly those who speak Welsh as their first language or are learning through the medium of Welsh. Your role will include assisting in the classroom, supporting students with their individual learning needs, and helping promote Welsh language and culture in an inclusive educational environment.

You will be working closely with the classroom teacher to implement lesson plans and assist in providing a high-quality learning experience. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about the Welsh language and education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide classroom support in Welsh, assisting students with lessons, tasks, and activities.
  • Help create a positive learning environment that encourages the use of the Welsh language.
  • Support students with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), ensuring they receive the appropriate guidance and care.
  • Assist with the preparation of Welsh language resources, documents, and materials for lessons.
  • Work closely with the class teacher to track student progress and provide individual support where necessary.
  • Help foster a supportive and inclusive environment for Welsh-speaking students.
  • Support the development of Welsh language skills in students through engaging and interactive activities.

Key Requirements:

  • Fluency in both written and verbal Welsh is essential.
  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar educational role is desirable.
  • A passion for working with children and supporting their development.
  • Knowledge of the Welsh curriculum and language strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • A commitment to promoting the Welsh language and culture in the classroom.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
