Job Title: Fluent Welsh Teaching Assistant
Location: Carmarthenshire
Salary: £83.85
Contract Type: Full-time/Part-time, Permanent/Temporary
Start Date: February 2025
Are you passionate about the Welsh language and helping young learners thrive in a bilingual environment? Teaching Personnel are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Fluent Welsh Teaching Assistants to support our students in both Welsh and English across the curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the class teacher in delivering lessons in Welsh, supporting students with their Welsh language development.
- Help students with individual or group work, ensuring they fully engage in the learning process.
- Provide language support to students who may require additional help with Welsh language skills.
- Encourage the use of Welsh in everyday activities, fostering a bilingual environment.
- Assist in the preparation of teaching materials and resources.
- Support the pastoral needs of students, ensuring they feel safe, valued, and motivated.
- Work closely with staff to track students' progress and implement strategies for improvement.
Key Requirements:
- Fluent in Welsh (both spoken and written).
- Experience working with children, ideally in a school or educational setting.
- A passion for the Welsh language and culture, with a commitment to promoting bilingualism.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and support students.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team of teachers and other teaching assistants.
- Flexibility, patience, and a positive, proactive attitude.
- A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) would be an advantage, but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
