SCIENCE TEACHER (WELSH MEDIUM)

A vacancy for a General Science Teacher has become available in a Welsh Medium Secondary School situated just outside of Cardiff. The position will be on a full-time basis and starting after the February half term. If you have a notice period to work, the school can accommodate this for the right Teacher.

The school are open to seeing Teachers of any Science specialism, but have stated that the successful Teacher needs to be competent in delivering KS3 general Science. As this is a Welsh Medium School you will need to be competent Teaching through the Welsh Language with the role being open to NQT’s and more experienced Teachers. As well as Teaching mainstream lessons you may be required to support small group interventions. Pupils being highlighted for interventions may be lower ability and also struggle with staying engaged in mainstream classrooms, therefore you will need to have strong classroom management skills in order to switch between mainstream Teaching & intervention groups.   • Cover until the end of the academic year
  • Previous Teaching experience is required although NQT applications will be considered from Biology, Chemistry & Physics
  • Welsh Medium School
  • Pay rates from £166 per day
  • Pupils ages 11-16
  • Strong understanding of the curriculum
  • Ability to work in small break out/intervention groups as well as mainstream classes

As this role is a maternity position the schools leadership team have wanted us to specify that if the successful applicant exceeds in their position they may look to keep them on through a school contract when the maternity position has ended.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
