Job Overview:

As a Welsh Primary Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality lessons in Welsh across a variety of subjects. You will create a positive, inclusive, and dynamic classroom environment where students can develop their Welsh language skills and academic abilities. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the next generation of Welsh speakers while supporting the growth and development of our pupils.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver effective Welsh-language lessons for primary-aged students across a range of subjects.
  • Foster a supportive, inclusive, and positive learning environment that encourages the use of Welsh in all areas of school life.
  • Monitor and assess students’ progress in Welsh, providing feedback to help them improve.
  • Develop creative and engaging activities that encourage students to speak, read, and write in Welsh.
  • Support students’ personal, social, and academic development while promoting Welsh culture.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the Welsh language is integrated across all curriculum areas.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to enhance teaching practice and stay current with educational trends.
  • Participate in school events, parent-teacher meetings, and extracurricular activities.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience teaching in a primary school setting.
  • Fluency in Welsh (spoken and written) to a high level (essential).
  • Experience in teaching Welsh as a first language is preferred.
  • Passion for the Welsh language, culture, and heritage.
  • Ability to create engaging and effective lessons that cater to a range of learning styles.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents.
  • A commitment to the development of every child’s academic and personal growth.
