Welsh-Medium Teaching Assistant
Location: NP18 (Welsh-Medium Primary School)
Contract Type: Full-Time (Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM)
Start Date: 20th of January 2025
Are you a fluent Welsh speaker with a passion for education and supporting young learners? Teaching Personnel is proud to partner with a fantastic Welsh-medium primary school in the NP18 area to recruit a Welsh-Medium Teaching Assistant (TA) starting in January 2025.
This is a great opportunity to gain experience in the education sector and make a real difference by leading interventions with small groups of children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver Welsh-medium interventions to small groups, focusing on areas such as reading, writing, verbal communication, and phonics.
- Support reading fluency and literacy development.
- Adapt learning programmes to meet the needs of individuals and groups.
- Assess, record, and report on student progress with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Prepare intervention plans and contribute to students’ social and emotional well-being.
- Work across Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2) as required.
- Follow school policies on child protection, health and safety, confidentiality, and data protection.
- Collaborate with staff and attend teaching assistant (TA) briefings.
- Assist in delivering the Welsh curriculum and support the school’s ethos.
Requirements:
- Fluent Welsh speaker with strong written and verbal communication skills in both Welsh and English.
- Proactive, patient, and empathetic approach to working with children.
- Ability to pass enhanced DBS checks (eligibility to work in the UK required).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
