Nurture & Wellbeing Teaching Assistant
Supporting vulnerable learners in KS3 – KS5
Cardiff, CF14
Starting 02/09/2024
A unique and thriving ALN provision in Cardiff is looking for a new member of staff to join their expanding team. The provision operates within a Cardiff secondary school and is designed to support learners with a range of social, emotional, and mental health challenges, as well as those with some additional needs. Students accessing this base spent most or all their time learning within the provision, and benefit from a small but experienced team of Teaching Assistants who adapt and tailor the school day to their individual needs and goals.
The ideal candidate for this role is someone with a calm and nurturing personality, an interest in supporting vulnerable young people, and the flexibility and willingness to support pupils with adapted curriculum lessons in a range of subject areas.
** This is an initial 1 term contract (September 2024 to December 2024), with the view to offer a permanent contract to the successful candidate following this period. **
Welsh Language Skills would be preferable but are NOT essential for this position.
Requirements
- Degree-level education, or equivalent qualification
- Enhanced Child Only DBS or be willing to process one.
- EWC Registration or be willing to process one.
- Experience and/or knowledge of working with children and young people (highly desirable).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
