Full-Time Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – ADHD Support
Location: Cardiff
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £419.25 per week
Teaching Personnel are seeking a compassionate, adaptable, and patient Learning Support Assistant (LSA) with experience supporting students with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). This is on behalf of one of our partner secondary schools in the heart of Cardiff; the school serves a closeknit community of under 1000 pupils. This role is perfect for someone who can understand the unique needs of students with ADHD and is committed to helping them thrive in an educational setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with ADHD, assisting them with focus, organization, and engagement in classroom activities
- Adapt teaching methods and activities to meet individual learning needs and keep students engaged
- Implement effective behaviour management techniques, helping students develop strategies for self-regulation and focus
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCo, and support staff to create an inclusive and structured environment that fosters positive learning experiences
- Promote confidence, resilience, and independence, helping students with ADHD set and achieve their academic and personal goals
- Respond with patience, creativity, and flexibility to adapt to each student’s unique challenges and strengths
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience working with children or young people with ADHD
- A patient, positive approach and ability to adjust to varied learning styles and needs
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to work collaboratively with staff and parents
- A proactive mindset, with a focus on creating a supportive, nurturing environment
- Passion for making a meaningful impact on the lives of students with ADHD
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a school or educational setting
- Relevant qualifications in SEN, ADHD support, or child development
