Job description

Teaching Personnel is the largest education agency operating across England and Wales. We are working closely with several Primary schools across Bristol and are looking for multiple Teaching Assistants with various backgrounds such as: youth work, support work and those who have worked in mainstream, alternative provisions and SEN settings, as examples. 

As a SEN teaching assistant you will assist children’s academic, social and emotional development. You will follow direction from the class teacher and work collaboratively with other learning professionals.

You can expect the following:

  • Weekly pay
  • Working hours 08:30am – 15:30pm, Monday – Friday, term time only
  • Purpose built facilities including sensory rooms and circuits, gardens, hydrotherapy, forest school, and soft play areas
  • Support children with autism, ADHD, Down syndrome, global delay, physical disabilities or medical conditions, mental health difficulties, behavioural difficulties
  • Ofsted rated ‘good’ and ‘outstanding’ schools to work in
  • Opportunity to work across different schools (daily supply) or to secure a regular position within the same school
  • Excellent communication with your consultant at Teaching Personnel
  • Pension scheme available
  • PAYE pay, no umbrella companies
  • IMMEDIATE WORK AVAILABLE

Having some or all of the following would be beneficial in applying:

  • Experience from working in primary schools
  • Experience working in health and social care, nursing, residential support
  • Training in any of the following: safeguarding, child protection, PECs, Makaton, Team Teach, multisensory impairment, moving and handling, administering medication, autism awareness
  • Education to degree level or an NVQ Level 3 qualification – Psychology, Education Studies, Nursing, Sociology, Health and Social Care, Youth Work or similar
  • Calm and patient manner
  • The desire to make a difference to children’s lives

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
