Full-Time Teaching Assistant (SEN Support) – Primary School
Location: Bath, BA2
Contract Type: Full-Time (Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM)
Are you passionate about working with children and making a difference in their learning journey? We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a wonderful primary school on a full-time basis. This exciting opportunity involves supporting pupils 1:1 who may have Special Educational Needs (SEN).
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support for students with SEN, helping them access the curriculum.
- Assist in developing individualized learning plans and activities tailored to each student's needs.
- Support classroom teachers in maintaining a positive and engaging learning environment.
- Foster social and emotional development in pupils, encouraging positive behaviour and communication.
- Work collaboratively with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and other support staff to monitor and assess student progress.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children in any capacity (e.g., as a sports coach, youth worker, psychology graduate, or similar roles).
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive attitude to support children with SEN.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with children and staff.
- No prior classroom experience required, though a genuine passion for working with children is essential.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A commitment to supporting the inclusive learning environment of the school.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
