Job description

Join Our Team of Expert Tutors – QTS Required | Flexible, Rewarding, Impactful

Are you a qualified teacher looking for a flexible, meaningful role outside the classroom? We’re seeking passionate QTS tutors to support learners across Islington. 

We work closely with local authorities, schools, and virtual schools to deliver high-quality education to students who may be out of mainstream school, need catch-up support, or require a more personalised learning approach. Most sessions take place during school hours (9am–3pm), Monday to Friday.


Your Role

  • Deliver engaging, personalised tuition in core subjects

  • Adapt lessons to meet each learner’s needs, pace, and ability

  • Track and report progress, attendance, and engagement using our platform

  • Communicate with parents/carers, schools, and our team to ensure consistent support

  • Ensure safeguarding and student well-being are central to every session

  • Offer tuition online or face-to-face, based on student needs and your availability


SEN/SEMH Experience Valued

Many of our learners have Special Educational Needs (SEN) or Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.We welcome tutors who

  • Have experience working with SEN/SEMH learners

  • Use patience, empathy, and flexibility to build trust and engagement

  • Can adapt teaching strategies to suit a wide range of needs

  • Are confident in managing behaviour in 1:1 or small group settings


We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Strong subject knowledge and curriculum experience

  • Confident working with school-aged learners (KS1–KS5)

  • Understanding of differentiated teaching and inclusive practice

  • Strong communication and organisation skills

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service


What We Offer:

Competitive hourly rate: £25–£30 PAYE, paid weekly

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
