Job description
Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people? We are seeking a dedicated tutor to support students in Northamptonshire with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, particularly those experiencing Emotional-Based School Avoidance (EBSA), anxiety, or low confidence.
Role Overview:
As an SEMH Tutor, you will work 1:1 or in small groups to assess, plan, and deliver tailored schemes of work that support each student’s unique needs. Your role will focus on rebuilding confidence, reducing anxiety, and promoting positive engagement with education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess individual student needs and create bespoke learning plans.
- Deliver engaging sessions fo maths and/or english that support academic and emotional development.
- Foster a safe and supportive environment that encourages self-confidence and resilience.
- Monitor and report on student progress, adjusting strategies as needed.
- Work collaboratively with families, schools, and external agencies where appropriate.
About You:
- Experience working with students with SEMH needs, particularly EBSA, anxiety, or low confidence.
- Strong understanding of strategies to engage students facing emotional barriers to learning.
- Ability to assess, plan, and deliver tailored educational programs.
- Empathetic, patient, and adaptable in your approach.
- Relevant qualifications in education or child development (desirable but not essential).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
