Job description
We are currently seeking a passionate and confident tutor to join a team at an alternative provision in Burnley. This is a long-term, 1:1 tutoring role that will take place Monday to Friday, from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM. Pay is dependent on skills and experience.
As a tutor, you will be responsible for delivering focused, personalised lessons in Core Subjects – English, Maths, and Science. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of these subjects and the ability to engage with students on a 1:1 basis, offering tailored support to help them thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 tutoring in English, Maths, and Science to students at our alternative provision
- Develop and deliver engaging, clear lessons tailored to individual learning needs
- Monitor and track student progress, offering constructive feedback
- Foster a positive and supportive learning environment
Essential Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of English, Maths, and Science at key stage levels
- Experience or a keen interest in working with students in an alternative provision setting
- Confidence and excellent communication skills, particularly in one-on-one tutoring
- A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to teaching

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
