Job description

Looking to Make a Difference Beyond the Care Sector? Your Experience Could Make a Powerful Impact in Education!

We’re searching for compassionate and committed individuals to join our school community as Teaching Assistants (TAs). If you’re currently in the care field, you already possess key qualities—empathy, patience, and resilience—that can make a profound difference in students' lives. If you’re passionate about supporting others' growth and success, this role could be the perfect next step for you.

Why Care Workers Thrive as Teaching Assistants

Care professionals have a unique ability to deliver personalized, nurturing support, a skill highly valued in classrooms. As a TA, you’ll work closely with students, supporting their academic progress, emotional development, and social skills. Your expertise in building trust and fostering independence in care environments translates seamlessly into guiding children on their educational journey.

Core Responsibilities

  • Student Support: Engage with individual students or small groups to encourage learning, provide tailored guidance, and help build their confidence.
  • Classroom Assistance: Support teachers by preparing materials, organizing classroom activities, and promoting an inclusive, welcoming learning environment.
  • Encouraging Development: Utilize your skills to support students, especially those with special educational needs (SEN) or emotional challenges, helping them develop resilience, independence, and social skills.
  • Building Connections: Create strong, trusting relationships with students, teachers, and families, ensuring that each student feels safe, respected, and supported.

Qualities We’re Looking For

  • Empathy and Patience: A deep understanding and patience are vital for supporting young learners—qualities that care workers naturally possess.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Interactions with students, teachers, and families are frequent, making excellent communication skills essential.
  • Adaptability and Resilience: The school setting is dynamic; adaptability and resilience will help you navigate the fulfilling challenges of working with children.
  • Experience in Care: Previous care experience—whether supporting the elderly, those with disabilities, or individuals in healthcare settings—is highly valuable. The skills you've developed in observation, encouragement, and support align well with this role.

What We Offer

  • A Collaborative Team: Join a community of supportive, dedicated professionals who work together to make a difference.
  • Opportunities for Growth: Access to training and development resources to enhance your skills, with career paths toward becoming a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA).
  • Balanced Work Hours: Enjoy a schedule that aligns with the academic year, allowing for a healthy work-life balance.

If you’re eager to bring your compassion and hands-on experience to an educational setting, we’d love to connect! Apply today to begin a rewarding journey, making a positive impact on the lives of young people every day.
