Are you a Teaching Assistant looking to support children and young people with a variety of special educational needs (SEN)? We are seeking compassionate and adaptable individuals to work in schools and specialist provisions across Harrogate, making a real difference to pupils who need additional support to thrive in education.
About the Role: You will be working with pupils who have a range of SEN, including Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and other complex learning needs. These children and young people require patient, skilled support to help them access learning, develop life skills, and build confidence in a structured and nurturing environment.
What You’ll Be Doing:

Supporting pupils with diverse SEN needs, ensuring they receive the tailored assistance required to achieve their potential.

Implementing Team Teach strategies to help manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour in a safe and supportive manner.

Assisting with personal care, communication strategies, and sensory support where necessary, depending on pupil needs.

Adapting learning materials and working closely with teachers and SENCOs to provide individualised support.

Encouraging independence, emotional resilience, and positive social interactions.

What We’re Looking For:

Experience supporting children or young people with a range of SEN, including SEMH, ASD, PMLD, or complex learning needs.

A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach.
-
A current Team Teach qualification (Desirable).
-
While transport is beneficial, it is not essential.
Location: Opportunities are available across Harrogate and nearby areas, including Knaresborough, Ripon, and Boroughbridge.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
