Are you a Team Teach-qualified Teaching Assistant looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking compassionate and proactive individuals to support schools and SEN settings across Halifax and nearby areas. This is a fantastic chance to make a meaningful impact on young people’s lives while advancing your career in education. Many of our placements lead to longer-term roles, offering great prospects for professional development.
The pupils you’ll be supporting may have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs or other additional needs that present with challenging behaviour. These young people thrive when guided by consistent, understanding adults who provide structure, encouragement, and positive reinforcement. Your role will involve fostering trust, promoting self-confidence, and helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.
With your Team Teach training, you will play a key role in managing and de-escalating challenging situations to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment. You will work closely with teachers and school staff, assisting in lessons and structured activities to help pupils stay engaged and reach their potential. Your patience, resilience, and ability to connect with young people will be invaluable in creating positive outcomes.
This role offers flexibility, allowing you to gain experience in a range of educational settings while working around your schedule. Many of our placements lead to long-term or permanent roles, making this an excellent opportunity for those looking to grow within the education sector.
Requirements:
-
A current Team Teach qualification (essential).
-
Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs or other diagnoses associated with challenging behaviour (preferred).
-
A proactive and resilient approach to supporting young people.
-
While having your own transport is beneficial, it is not essential.
We have exciting opportunities available across Halifax and surrounding areas. If you’re ready to make a real difference and support young people in achieving their full potential, we’d love to hear from you.
