Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Do you have a strong commitment to helping young individuals achieve their educational and personal goals?

A 'GOOD' secondary school in South Bristol is seeking a Female Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a vulnerable Year 7 pupil who will be transitioning to the school in September 2024. The pupil has refugee status and requires support with personal care, accessing learning, and social and emotional regulation.

Job Description:

  • Provide personal care, including changing pads.
  • Play a vital role in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for the student.
  • Providing 1:1 and small group support.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs).
  • Promoting positive behaviour management techniques and strategies.
  • Collaborating with teachers and other professionals to support student learning.
  • Monitoring and recording student progress.

While no specific qualifications may be required for this role, having a background in education, psychology, or related fields can be advantageous. A genuine passion for helping students with SEND achieve their full potential is a very important quality we look for, as well as a willingness to learn and adapt the unique needs of the student. Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
