Job Title: Teaching Assistant – Reception class support
Start: 10th January 2024
Hours: Monday – Friday 3:30-8:30
Salary: £11.85 per hour
Location: Cardiff
Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join the reception class in one of our lovely client schools. The successful candidate will provide support to the class teacher and take the lead in supporting small groups with reading and writing interventions.
Role Overview:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide general support within the Reception Class, assisting the class teacher with day-to-day activities and creating a positive learning environment and take groups for reading and writing support. This temporary position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience within a highly regarded primary school setting.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist the class teacher with daily routines and activities, ensuring a safe and stimulating learning environment.
- Work with small groups of pupils, offering additional support for reading and writing activities.
- Foster the development of social and emotional skills in young learners.
- Collaborate with the class teacher to plan and deliver engaging lessons and learning resources.
- Assist with monitoring and recording pupil progress, providing feedback to the class teacher where necessary.
- Uphold the school's policies and values, ensuring the well-being and safety of all pupils.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is desirable but not essential.
- A genuine passion for working with young children, supporting their growth and development.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and the capacity to work well within a team.
- A relevant qualification or willingness to work towards one.
- Enhanced child workforce DBS registered on the update service
- Registered with the Education Workforce Council
- Provide two years of references

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
