Job description

Teaching Assistant required at a supportive and inclusive school located in Yeovil, Somerset. We provide a high-quality education for students who may require additional support to thrive academically and personally. Our dedicated staff team works collaboratively to create a safe, engaging, and inspiring learning experience for our students.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support students in their learning and personal development, ensuring a safe and positive environment.

  • Assist teachers in delivering tailored lessons and activities that meet individual needs.

  • Work closely with other professionals, including therapists and support staff, to implement strategies that promote student progress.

  • Encourage communication, independence, and confidence in students.

  • Support students with emotional regulation and behavioural challenges

What We’re Looking For

We welcome applicants with experience in educational settings or those looking to begin a rewarding career in education. Ideal candidates will have:

  • A compassionate and patient approach.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Experience working with children or young people with additional needs, specifically mental health related.

  • A willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of our students.

  • Full time availability (08:30 - 16:30, Monday - Friday, term time only)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
