Teaching Assistant – Full-Time Role in Wilmslow
Teaching Personnel is delighted to offer an opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Wilmslow. This is a full-time position starting in February and continuing until the end of the academic year, with the potential for the role to become permanent based on performance. The weekly pay for this role ranges from £419.25 to £500.
About the Role
This is an ideal opportunity for individuals passionate about supporting students’ academic and personal growth. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students and teachers to ensure a positive learning experience for all. Your role will involve providing tailored support to students of varying abilities, helping to build their confidence and achieve their potential across a range of subjects.
Key Responsibilities
- Classroom Support: Assist teachers during lessons by working with small groups or individual students to ensure they can engage with and understand the material.
- One-to-One Support: Provide targeted assistance to students with additional learning needs, including those with SEND, to help them access the curriculum effectively.
- Promote Engagement: Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, encouraging students to participate actively in their learning.
- Differentiated Learning: Adapt resources and activities to support students with varying learning styles and abilities.
- Monitor Progress: Track students’ development, identify areas where they require additional support, and communicate findings with teachers to inform lesson planning.
- Mentoring: Act as a positive role model, supporting students’ emotional well-being and helping them to build confidence and resilience.
- Assist with Behaviour Management: Support the teacher in maintaining a focused and respectful classroom environment by addressing any disruptive behaviour calmly and professionally.
- Exam Preparation: Help students prepare for upcoming assessments by reviewing key concepts and teaching effective study strategies.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience or Passion for Education: Previous experience in a school setting or working with young people is advantageous but not essential. Enthusiasm for supporting students’ learning and development is key.
- Strong Communication Skills: The ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents is essential.
- Adaptability and Patience: A flexible and understanding approach to working with students of varying abilities and needs.
- Team Player: A willingness to collaborate with teachers and other staff to provide the best support for students.
- Commitment: A genuine passion for helping young people achieve their full potential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
