Teaching Assistant
Job description
A mainstream secondary school in Salisbury is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic full-time Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. This position is available to start immediately and offers the opportunity to work with students across various year groups and subjects.
The successful candidate will support teachers in delivering engaging lessons, assist with individual and group learning activities, and help to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. They will work closely with students to encourage academic progress and provide pastoral care, supporting their development both inside and outside the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students in their learning, including providing assistance during lessons and working with small groups or on a 1:1 basis.
- Assist with classroom management and the preparation of teaching resources.
- Help to monitor students’ progress and assist with their personal development.
- Provide pastoral support and contribute to the overall wellbeing of students.
- Liaise with teachers and other staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality education.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Experience working with young people, ideally in an educational setting.
- A patient, caring, and proactive attitude toward supporting students.
- Good communication skills, both with students and colleagues.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
