We are working closely with a dynamic and forward-thinking secondary school in Rochdale, committed to providing a high-quality education for our diverse student body. Our school fosters an inclusive and supportive environment where every student is encouraged to achieve their full potential.

Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated and caring Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will support teachers in delivering engaging lessons and help create a positive and productive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in preparing the classroom for lessons and activities.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students to reinforce learning.
  • Support students with their academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Help manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of educational activities and projects.
  • Provide support for students with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Contribute to the safety and well-being of all students.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent).
  • Experience working with secondary school-aged children in an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young people.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of children.

Desirable:

  • Experience supporting students with SEN.
  • First Aid qualification.
  • Understanding of the secondary school curriculum.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
