Job Opportunity: Teaching Assistant at SEN School in Poole

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team at a Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Poole. This is a full-time role, working with pupils aged 11-16 who have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and may be vulnerable.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEMH needs
• Assist in the delivery of tailored learning plans, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity
• Foster a positive, supportive environment to encourage engagement and personal development
• Support students with emotional regulation and behavioural needs
• Collaborate with teachers and other staff to monitor and track student progress
• Help maintain a safe and structured learning environment

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Experience working with pupils with SEMH and vulnerable students
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to student well-being
• Ability to manage challenging behaviour in a calm and professional manner
• Relevant qualifications in supporting young people with additional needs (preferred but not essential)
