Job Opportunity: Teaching Assistant at SEN School in Poole
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team at a Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Poole. This is a full-time role, working with pupils aged 11-16 who have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and may be vulnerable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEMH needs
- Assist in the delivery of tailored learning plans, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity
- Foster a positive, supportive environment to encourage engagement and personal development
- Support students with emotional regulation and behavioural needs
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff to monitor and track student progress
- Help maintain a safe and structured learning environment
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Experience working with pupils with SEMH and vulnerable students
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to student well-being
- Ability to manage challenging behaviour in a calm and professional manner
- Relevant qualifications in supporting young people with additional needs (preferred but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
