Please see below for details of an upcoming Teaching Assistant requirement at a large, highly supportive secondary school starting at the beginning of the new academic year (4th September).
The successfully appointed Teaching Assistant will ideally have relevant experience working with individuals with special educational needs as well as experience of fulfilling a similar role at a secondary school. There will an element of supervising young students and working within the school’s Hub provision working with the more vulnerable students. The team is highly supportive with a Hub Lead Teacher, Assistant within the provision as well as a SENCO and Assistant SENCO and a full team of Teaching Assistants.
Highlights of this Teaching Assistant position:
- Competitive pay rate depending upon the individual’s teaching qualification (earning potential up to £1775 per month)
- Hours likely to fall within the hours of school but approximately 8:30am – 3:45pm
- Applications open from all experience levels including those without a teaching qualification
- Experience in a similar role or with EHCPs is ideal but not essential
- Full time SEN support required
- Start on Monday 4th September until Christmas in the first instance with the opportunity to take on a school based contract
Given the nature of the role, the school’s SENCO has advised that the school is looking for a versatile Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or Educational Support Assistant or someone with relevant experience. There will be opportunity to support a wide range of students so being adaptable is a must for this role.

- Work across the age, ability and subject range supporting lower-level learners
- Highly supportive support team at this large secondary school
- Situated in central Northampton area accessible via surrounding areas: NN1, NN2, NN3, NN4, NN5, NN7.
This school is located in the central Northampton Area. The school has fantastic facilities including a large secure on site car park given the scale of the school.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
