Position: Teaching Assistant (Reception Class)

Location: Newport, NP10
Contract Type: Monday – Thursday (8:30 – 3:30)
Start Date: 25^th of November 2024

About the Role:
We are looking for a compassionate and proactive Teaching Assistant to support our reception class, with a specific focus on Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and general classroom assistance. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to create a welcoming and inclusive environment that promotes learning and growth for all students.

Responsibilities:

• Provide in-class support for Reception students, particularly those with Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
• Assist in delivering tailored learning activities, meeting the unique needs of each child.
• Support general classroom management, preparing resources, and maintaining a positive learning environment.
• Help create independence, engagement, and confidence among young learners.

Requirements:

• Experience with early years or primary-aged children, ideally in an ALN support role.
• Compassionate and patient, with strong communication and collaborative skills.
• The right to work in the UK (Passport or Birth Certificate).
• A valid proof of address (Driving License, utility bill, or bank statement).
• Valid referee details (Character references accepted if you have no prior work experience).
• A child-only DBS (we can assist in attaining this).
