Teaching Assistant Vacancy - Newcastle

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Position: Teaching Assistant (Full-Time/Part-Time)
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Start Date: Immediate/As soon as possible

About Us:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team at in Newcastle. We pride ourselves on fostering a nurturing learning environment, encouraging student growth, and supporting the professional development of our staff.

Role Overview:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the learning and development of students across different age groups and abilities. You will assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons, supporting individual students, and ensuring a positive, inclusive classroom environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or group support to students as required.
  • Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom management.
  • Support students with their academic, social, and emotional needs.
  • Help monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers.
  • Promote a positive learning atmosphere in the classroom.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and school events as needed.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience or qualifications in education or child care.
  • A passion for working with children and supporting their development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team and adapt to different classroom settings.
  • A positive attitude and commitment to the school’s values.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Special Educational Needs (SEN) experience.
  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent qualification.
