Teaching Assistant – SEMH School (Temp to Perm)

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join an SEMH school in Liverpool on a full-time, temp-to-perm basis, with an immediate start. This role offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact on students who require extra support to reach their full potential.

Position Details:

• Role: Teaching Assistant
• Location: SEMH School, Liverpool
• Contract: Temp to Perm, Full-time, Immediate Start

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs, helping them manage emotions and behaviour.
• Assist teaching staff in delivering engaging and supportive lessons.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with students to help remove barriers to learning.
• Implement effective behaviour management strategies to maintain a positive learning environment.
• Support students in their academic progress and emotional development.

Ideal Candidate:

• Resilient, patient, and calm when managing challenging behaviour.
• Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to de-escalate difficult situations.
• Empathetic and understanding towards students who have struggled in mainstream education.
• A team player who can build rapport with both students and staff.
• Experience working with SEMH students or in a similar setting is desirable but not essential.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a school or educational setting, preferably with SEMH or SEN students.
• A positive, adaptable attitude to meet the diverse needs of students.
• A genuine passion for supporting young people and making a difference in their lives.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
