Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for an experienced athlete, sports graduate, or sports coach or someone with a keen interest in sports, to work as a dedicated Teaching Assistant, working 1:1 with children with Social Emotional Mental Health needs and leading and supporting PE lessons. The Specialist Resource Provision (SRP) for children aged 4 to 11 is looking for an enthusiastic team player who is keen to inspire young learners by providing and supporting high quality teaching and enjoyable lessons, and to encourage them to make positive life choices. This would be a full-time role with immediate start and would be perfect for somebody that is looking to be a Physical Education Teacher in future, wants to gain experience working with children or is looking for a career in the sports/education sector. 

Qualified Teaching Status is NOT needed for this role but you will need proven experience leading practical and classroom based PE Lessons.

This role would involve:

  • Supporting the class teacher in the delivery of lessons
  • Organising and collecting resources for the lessons
  • Deliver interventions, including those that are movement-based
  • Being a positive role model to inspire and encourage the child to make positive life choices and behaviours.
  • Use enthusiasm to encourage children to become involved in lessons

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
