*Teaching Assistant to support SEN in Primary* 

Are you looking for a role where you can really make a difference? 

Teaching Personnel are supporting a Trust of Schools in the Chesterfield area. On behalf of the Trust, we are looking for a Teaching Assistant to support children with SEN (specifically ASC) on a part time basis. You may have experience supporting ASC in a Primary School, or you may come from a Carer/Youth Worker background. We are looking for an individual who is calm and patient, able to use positive behaviour management techniques and deliver specialist interventions on a 121 basis or with small groups.

All the schools within the trust have a common desire to help each other, challenge each other and work together to bring about continued improvement – local schools supporting local schools.  The trust's ethos is to retain each school’s unique identity whilst introducing best practice systems and processes to support improvement. As part of this family, you will have the opportunity to develop professionally and work with a number of staff members across various settings. 

Daily Rate; upwards from GBP66.30 per day

Start; September start, or as soon as possible after 

Part - Time (full time roles are also available) 

Roles and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to;

  • Working on a 121 basis, or with small groups of children, identified as SEN 
  • Supporting children with ASC 
  • Managing challenging behaviour using positive behaviour management techniques 
  • Supporting the class teacher with classroom management 
  • Working with parents and carers, reporting on children's progress 
  • Working alongside the SENDCo to create behaviour plans and progress reports
  • Delivering interventions, which may include Nurture, THRIVE, Talking Stories etc. 
  • Planning time outside of the classroom, including outdoor activities

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
