Teaching Assistant Vacancy


We are working with a number of excellent primary schools across South West Wales who are looking for passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistants to join their teams. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting classroom teachers and helping children achieve their full potential. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are eager to make a positive impact in primary education.

Position – Primary School Teaching Assistant

Location –  Carmarthen

Hours – Full time, Monday – Friday

Salary - £83.85 daily rate

What We’re Looking For:

  • Childcare Experience (Preferred): Previous experience in a childcare or educational setting is highly desirable, but not essential. What matters most is your enthusiasm and commitment to supporting children in their learning journey. ‍
  • Full-time Commitment: We’re looking for someone who is ready to commit to a full-time role and be a reliable presence in our school community. ️
  • A Valid Driver’s Licence: The ability to drive is a must, as you may be required to assist with school trips or travel to other locations for school activities.
  • Kind, Patient, and Approachable: Our ideal candidate will have a nurturing and caring approach, with the ability to build strong relationships with children and staff alike.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the class teacher in preparing and delivering lessons, making it fun and interactive.
  • Provide 1:1 support and assist small groups with tailored learning activities.
  • Help with classroom management and ensure that students are engaged and focused, and all pupils' needs are met.
  • Assist with activities during lunch, break times, and school events.
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
  • Assist with the organisation of school activities and events, including trips and extracurricular clubs.
  • Be a positive role model for students, promoting good behaviour, respect, and a love for learning.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
