SEN & SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Bristol (BS4)
Key Stage Three & Key Stage Four
Daily Rates: £89- £110
Are you passionate about supporting children? Do have experience or want to gain experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and/ or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges?
We’reseeking an enthusiastic and compassionate individual to join our team as a Teaching Assistant. In this role, you will work with students aged 11-16, supporting them with a variety of needs, including anxiety, depression, emotional regulation difficulties, behavioural challenges, and communication issues.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with a strong mindset and the ability to be both sensitive and supportive in meeting the unique needs of these students, blending education and personal/ emotional development.

Start: Immediate and to continue till the end of the academic year

Hours: 8:30 – 3:30. Part-time and full-time roles available, Mon – Fri term time only

Location: South Bristol

What you’ll do:
-
Support the classroom teacher in delivering the school’s curriculum, working with students in small groups or on a one-on-one basis.

Work in classrooms with 8-10 children with other teaching assistants supporting the learning and development of the children.

Build positive, trusting relationships with students.

Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment that fosters student growth and development.

Provide the foundation and encouragement students need to thrive both academically and personally.
Who we’re looking for:
-
A passionate individual eager to work with children with additional needs.
-
Experience isn’trequired, but a strong senseof dedication and determination is essential.

Experience(not essential) with young people or adults wiht SEN or challenging behaviour
-
Personal experience with SEN/SEMH is desirable but not essential.

Strong communication skills and the ability to manage behaviour effectively.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
