Teaching Assistant
Job description
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a thriving secondary school and sixth form in Braintree, Essex. The school is seeking to appoint a committed individual to join the team on a permanent basis from April 2025 or sooner.
The Role:
The successful candidate will support students across various subjects, ensuring they have the guidance and assistance needed to reach their full potential. Working closely with teachers, they will help to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment. This role is ideal for someone passionate about education and looking to make a positive impact on young people's academic journeys.
Key Responsibilities:
Support students in the classroom, both individually and in small groups
Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons
Help manage classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning atmosphere
Provide additional support for students with special educational needs (SEN)
Assist with administrative tasks, lesson preparation, and resource organisation
Foster students’ confidence and independence in their learning
Requirements:
A genuine passion for supporting young people in their education
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
A patient, adaptable, and proactive approach to learning support
Experience working in an educational setting (desirable but not essential)
A relevant qualification, such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant certificate (desirable)
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
