KS2 Teaching Assistant with SEN Support

Bournemouth, UK

We have roles available across Dorset for September starts, if you are a fully qualified teacher or teaching assistant, join us in supporting a vibrant primary school in Bournemouth known for its strong community spirit and commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for all students. The school prides itself on its inclusive approach, ensuring every child receives the support they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated support to KS2 students, particularly those with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Assist in creating and maintaining a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Work closely with the class teacher to deliver tailored interventions and support plans.
  • Aid in the development of individual education plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress.
  • Support students during classroom and lunchtime activities, promoting positive behaviour and engagement.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children, particularly those with SEN, is highly desirable.
  • A current DBS certificate or willingness to apply for one.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and follow directions from teaching staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping all children succeed.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
