HLTA Needed
The School:
The Headteacher of a large Primary School in Blackpool is looking for a HLTA to join their KS2 Team. The role is full time Monday-Friday with teaching classes in the lower KS2. This is a large Primary School in Blackpool serving a mixed catchment area. The school is easily commutable from surrounding areas such as Preston, Fleetwood, Lytham, Kirkham, Garstang and Lancaster. The Headteacher is committed to whole school improvement and is keen to secure a teacher with a strong academic background, preferable somebody who has experience working within a ‘inner-city’ school due to schools mixed catchment area.
The school have a well established senior leadership team and have very few staffing changes. Behaviour in school is good; this is reflective of the firm, but fair behaviour management strategies consistently implemented across the school by all staff. The Headteacher encourages collaborative planning to reduce the teacher s workload and develop best practice across Key Stage 1.
The Role:
This position has cropped up due to a recent resignation and the school are keen to appoint a HLTA who can offer support and cover PPA in the lower KS2. There is potential for the role to go permanent after a period of supply work. The successful candidate will be expected to undertake teaching work; planning, delivering and assessing the children in line with the local framework and the National Curriculum as well as offering support for the normal class teachers. Candidates must hold strong subject knowledge in all curriculum areas especially in Maths, Reading and Writing.
The pay and working hours:
The rate of pay will reflect the role and also the level of experience of the successful applicant. It is expected to fall within the bracket of GBP70-80 per day, based on a 6.5 hour working day. To confirm also, this is a full-time role to start from September 2021. The expectation is that the role will continue until Jan 2022, with the view to become a permanent member of staff.
How to apply:
To apply for this role, you must hold either a HLTA or Teacher qualification. You must also be experienced in Lower KS2 and be prepared and committed to raising standards in the classroom. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
