Teaching Assistant – SEN Learning Support
Location: Birmingham
Pay: £80-£90/day
Hours: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM, Full-time
Start Date: Immediate

The Role

We’re looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a specialised school in Birmingham that caters to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). The school supports children and young adults with Autism, Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, as well as other learning challenges.

As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students in the classroom.
  • Work across a variety of age groups, from Early Years to Post-16.
  • Help students develop their independence and life skills in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

This role is perfect for anyone passionate about education, child development, or working within the SEN sector.

What We’re Looking For

We welcome applications from candidates with experience, transferable skills, or a keen interest in working with young people. Ideal candidates will be:

  • Passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
  • Committed to helping students overcome barriers to learning.
  • Eager to develop skills and experience in the education or SEN sector.
    Experience in related fields such as youth work, coaching, social work, or care is also highly valued.

Requirements

  • A genuine passion for supporting students with SEN.
  • Experience working with children or transferable skills (preferred but not essential).
  • An Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
