Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking to recruit a reliable and proactive Teaching Assistant to work in a Primary School in the Barry area. The position will be full-time, working alongside a year 1 class, and working on a 1:1 basis with a child. The ideal candidate will be confident working with children of varied needs and abilities and general classroom support will be required. Good behaviour management will be essential, as well as maintaining a positive school environment and working collaboratively with the other teaching assistants and teachers in the class. The ability to adapt in the classroom and provide support to suit the child’s individual needs will be required.
Main Duties:
- Providing general classroom support for the teacher and supporting all class children.
- Working on a 1:1 basis supporting a child with additional learning needs.
- Being confident completing intervention work on an individual basis or within small groups.
- Ability to build professional relationships with children, staff, and parents in the school.
About the School:
The school is based in the Vale of Glamorgan and is a two-form entry. The school are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to join their friendly team who will bring a positive attitude to the class. You will receive continuous support and feedback, and the school will always be open to hearing new ideas and feedback. The ideal candidate will need to be enthusiastic and reliable, whilst wanting to provide a positive and safe learning environment for the children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
