Teaching Assistant - Construction & Engineering
Job description
Ideally, you will have experience of working with young people with additional needs in a trauma informed, attachment aware manner although all relevant skills and experience will be considered.

We are looking for a Specialist Teaching Assistant with the ability to support across our Construction and Motor Vehicle Engineering vocational areas, working 35 hours per week, 8.30 - 4.00, Term Time only.
Experience of working in construction and motor vehicle areas, either from an industry perspective or educational establishment preferred but not essential.

Role and Responsibilities:
- To assist vocational instructors with all aspects of their work within the Academy.
- To work with groups or individuals within the vocational area and assist learning.
- To ensure equipment and resources are used appropriately, maintaining a safe and clean environment. Carrying out and arranging for ordering, maintenance and repair of resources if required.
- To prepare wall displays under the guidance of the instructor
- To work in collaboration with the vocational instructor in setting and reviewing students’ targets, planning progression and differentiation of work, and supporting students to achieve progress and success.
- To input data to the Academy’s databases, as required.
- To liaise with students’ parents/carers
- To respect confidentiality of all information regarding students and their families
- To attend and contribute to staff meetings as required
- To contribute to physical, social, emotional and intellectual well-being of the students.
- To support students in other curriculum areas as necessary.
- To contribute to the enrichment programme and support students during unstructured times, including lunch and after school.
- Support the assessment of learner’s work by actively participating in the internal verification process.
Professional development:
- Participate in arrangements for the appraisal and review of their own performance, and, where appropriate, that of other members of the team.
- Participate in arrangements for their own further training and professional development, and, where appropriate, that of other members of the team, including induction.
- Undertaking training and professional development to ensure progression in the development of the work within the responsibility of this job description

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
