Teaching Assistant – Additional Needs Base
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join an Additional Needs Base on a full-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful difference on a one to one basis with a pupil with additional needs and requires assistance with toileting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing hands-on support to a pupil with additional needs in a classroom setting.
- Assisting with personal care, including toileting and medical needs, ensuring dignity and respect at all times.
- Safely removing and emptying a tube as required.
- Supporting a pupil with their learning, communication, and social development.
- Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external professionals to meet the pupil's needs.
- Promoting independence and confidence in pupils through tailored support and encouragement.
About You:
- Experience working with children or young people with additional needs (preferred but not essential).
- A caring, patient, and resilient approach to supporting children with complex needs.
- Willingness to undertake training specific to the role, including medical procedures.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Job Details:
- Contract: Full-time, 2 year placement preferable
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:15am-15:15pm
- Location: School-based role within an Additional Needs Base.
- Pay: £13-£14.50 per hour depending on experience.
This is a rewarding opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and is comfortable with the personal care aspects of the role. Full training will be provided to the right candidate.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
