Teaching Assistant – Additional Needs Base

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join an Additional Needs Base on a full-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful difference on a one to one basis with a pupil with additional needs and requires assistance with toileting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing hands-on support to a pupil with additional needs in a classroom setting.
  • Assisting with personal care, including toileting and medical needs, ensuring dignity and respect at all times.
  • Safely removing and emptying a tube as required.
  • Supporting a pupil with their learning, communication, and social development.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external professionals to meet the pupil's needs.
  • Promoting independence and confidence in pupils through tailored support and encouragement.

About You:

  • Experience working with children or young people with additional needs (preferred but not essential).
  • A caring, patient, and resilient approach to supporting children with complex needs.
  • Willingness to undertake training specific to the role, including medical procedures.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Job Details:

  • Contract: Full-time, 2 year placement preferable
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:15am-15:15pm
  • Location: School-based role within an Additional Needs Base.
  • Pay: £13-£14.50 per hour depending on experience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
