Specialist Primary Teacher – Year 4 Class (Durham)

Are you an experienced educator with a passion for teaching Year 4 students?

We are seeking a dedicated Year 4 Teacher to join our friendly and supportive primary school in Durham. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a real impact on a dynamic class of young learners, helping them grow academically and socially in their crucial stage of development.

Key Details:

  • Role: Year 4 Primary Teacher
  • Start Date: 7th April
  • Duration: Temporary (maternity cover)
  • Location: Durham
  • Class Size: 30 pupils

What You'll Do:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, creative lessons tailored to the Year 4 curriculum
  • Guide students through key subjects, including English, Mathematics, Science, and Humanities
  • Foster a positive classroom culture that encourages curiosity, collaboration, and independence
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to parents and staff
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including those with additional needs
  • Lead extracurricular activities and support school events as needed

What We're Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Proven experience teaching Year 4 (or similar age group) with a solid understanding of the National Curriculum
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to motivate and inspire students
  • A creative, flexible approach to teaching that puts students' well-being first
  • Passion for fostering a love of learning and supporting student growth, both academically and personally
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a commitment to working as part of a team
