Job Advertisement: Experienced Teaching Assistant with Personal Care Experience
Position: Teaching Assistant (TA) with Personal Care Experience
Location: Birmingham City Centre
Contract Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Start Date: November
Are you passionate about supporting children's education and wellbeing? Do you have experience in both classroom assistance and personal care? We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team, providing exceptional support to children with additional needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Support Classroom Learning: Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons, providing one-on-one or small group support where needed.
Personal Care: Help with personal care needs, including feeding, toileting, and mobility support for children with physical disabilities or additional needs.
Individualized Support: Work closely with SEN students, understanding their specific educational and emotional requirements to foster a positive learning environment.
Collaboration: Liaise with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure coordinated care and learning for each student.
Encouragement & Motivation: Encourage students to build their confidence, independence, and social skills through tailored support.
Requirements:
Experience: Minimum of [insert number] years as a Teaching Assistant, preferably in a SEN environment.
Personal Care Experience: Previous experience supporting children with personal care needs is essential.
Qualifications: Relevant qualifications such as Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant certificate or equivalent are highly desirable.
Skills: Strong communication skills, patience, empathy, and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Safeguarding: A strong understanding of safeguarding policies and a commitment to child welfare. Enhanced DBS check required.
