The Role

A high-achieving secondary school in North Bristol is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of Science to join its successful department. The school delivers a knowledge-rich curriculum with a strong focus on research-led teaching, ensuring that students receive the highest quality education.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality Science lessons at KS3 and KS4.
  • Incorporate cognitive science principles and evidence-based teaching strategies into classroom practice.
  • Support the school’s commitment to knowledge-rich education by ensuring students access rigorous and challenging content.
  • Contribute to the school’s ethos and values, upholding high expectations for student behaviour and learning.
  • Work collaboratively with the Science department, sharing best practices and refining teaching strategies.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development, including personalised 1:1 coaching sessions and weekly CPD.

The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for a passionate and driven Science teacher who:

  • Holds QTS and has experience teaching Science at KS3 and KS4.
  • Has a strong understanding of research-led teaching methods, including Rosenshine’s Principles and direct instruction.
  • Shares the school’s commitment to providing outstanding education for all students, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
  • Can engage and inspire students of all abilities, fostering a love for Science.
  • Works well in a team-focused environment, contributing to the department’s ongoing success.
  • Values high standards of behaviour, academic achievement, and student well-being.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
