Job Advert: Teacher of Science

Location: Basingstoke
Contract: Full-Time, 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year
Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance
Start Date: ASAP

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Science to join our supportive and inclusive team at a specialist school catering for children with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a nurturing environment, where you can make a positive impact on the lives of young learners with diverse needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Science lessons to students with ASC and SEMH needs, ensuring engaging and accessible content.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to suit the individual learning styles and abilities of students.
  • Foster a positive and safe learning environment, encouraging student engagement and promoting their personal and academic development.
  • Work collaboratively with other teaching staff, support assistants, and specialists to implement tailored interventions and support.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and setting achievable goals.
  • Be an advocate for students' wellbeing, promoting a supportive and inclusive classroom culture.

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required.
  • Experience teaching Science at secondary level is desirable.
  • Experience or a strong interest in working with children with ASC and SEMH needs.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
  • A commitment to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
