Teacher of Religious Studies
Location: Oldham, Greater Manchester
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)

A highly reputable and well-established Multi Academy Trust is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of Religious Studies to join one of its thriving secondary schools in Oldham. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and passionate educator to inspire students and contribute to a dynamic humanities department.

The Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality Religious Studies lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering a love for learning and encouraging students to develop critical thinking skills. There may also be opportunities to teach at Key Stage 5 for suitably qualified candidates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and challenging lessons that meet the needs of all learners.
  • Assess, monitor, and support student progress, ensuring high attainment levels.
  • Contribute to curriculum development within the Religious Studies department.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect and understanding.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance teaching and learning strategies.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and enrichment opportunities.
  • Uphold the ethos and values of the Multi Academy Trust.

Person Specification:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in Religious Studies, Theology, Philosophy, or a related subject.
  • Experience teaching Religious Studies at Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 experience desirable but not essential).
  • A strong understanding of the UK curriculum and assessment requirements.
  • A commitment to delivering outstanding teaching and learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for encouraging students to engage with diverse religious and ethical perspectives.
