Role: Teacher of Humanities (RE/History)
Area: Essex
Start: January 2025
Contract: Fulltime, Permanent
Salary: MPS/UPS, Dependent on experience

A highly respected Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of Humanities to join the permanent staff team of their growing and improving secondary school in Essex. The Role

The successful candidate will:

  • Deliver engaging and inspiring lessons in Humanities, with a focus on Religious Education (RE) and History.
  • Play an integral role in supporting the Humanities department’s continued growth and success.
  • Foster a passion for learning and critical thinking in students.
  • Contribute to the school’s ethos of high expectations and academic excellence.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Have a proven track record of teaching RE and/or History at Key Stages 3 and 4, with experience at Key Stage 5 desirable but not essential.
  • Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and a passion for Humanities.
  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Exhibit excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Show a willingness to contribute to extra-curricular activities and the wider school community.
  • Be dedicated to their own professional development and continuous improvement.
