Role: Art Teacher

We are currently seeking a Teacher of Art and Photography within our fully inclusive, all-through learning community. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual who has outstanding experience and/or potential. Our new teacher will be expected to motivate and inspire students, staff and parents to develop and promote a culture that challenges students to achieve at the highest levels. You will also be expected to teach Key stages 3 and 4, possibly 5 too.
The post will suit individuals who are looking to ultimately become successful middle leaders in the future. The School has a highly talented and motivated staff body and a supportive, bright and extremely well-behaved student body. The role will be a temp to perm role. You will start off working with Teaching Personnel but then transfer over to the schools payroll where you will become a permemant member of their team.
Duties and responsibilities:
- To assist in the development of appropriate syllabuses, resources, schemes of work, marking policies and teaching strategies in the subject area and faculty
- To contribute to the process of the ordering and allocation of equipment and materials
- To plan and prepare courses and lessons
- To contribute to educational enhancement activities
- To contribute to the whole school’s planning activities
- To contribute to the Curriculum Area/Department’s development plan and implementation
Experience needed:
- Qualified teacher status in the UK
- Educated to degree level
- Knowledge of effective strategies to include and meet the needs of all pupils, in particular, underachieving groups of pupils, pupils with SEN and the most able
The school:
The school is a dynamic and heavily oversubscribed all-through academy which covers an age range from 4 to 19. The school caters for over 2100 students across our Primary phase, Secondary phase, and Sixth Form. The school is currently rated as ‘Good’ with ‘Outstanding’ features by Ofsted. Our early years foundation stage provision is judged to be outstanding. The vision for the school is that it becomes a centre of excellence in developing innovative teaching as well as being a school that focuses on developing success, confidence, and ambition in all our students. It is therefore important that the successful candidate has a true passion and determination for improving attendance across the school and enabling students to fulfil their potential.
About the Art department:
They also organise school visits, including the National Portrait gallery in London, Pitt Rivers and Natural History Museum in Oxford. Year 10 students visit Kew Gardens where they spend the day working in situ. Galleries in London including the Tate Britain, Tate Modern, Saatchi Gallery and Victoria and Albert Museum all feature in our studies. They run after-school sessions for all year groups and put on some weekend and holiday sessions for GCSE and A level students

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
