Location: Tokers Green, Reading
Salary: £30,000 - £46,525 p.a. (M1- UPS3)
Contract: Full time permanent position
Teaching Personnel have an exciting opportunity to work with a large SEN school based in Reading. The school has pupils ages 5-16 years old. They are looking for a teacher to join the expanding team and work alongside the Senior Leadership Team to aid the smooth running of the school.
Job Summary
- Be responsible for the quality of teaching and learning of all pupils who are assigned to the post holder, having responsibility for their progress, welfare and outcomes.
- Supervise the work of any support staff, who are assigned to work with the post holder’s pupils.
- Provide leadership across the school in a curriculum area, this to include:
- monitoring quality and standards
- contributing to school planning and self-evaluation
- providing professional support to other teachers and support staff
- Advising the Head of Education on appropriate resources and materials
- Work to the schools’ values and ensure that values are embedded in everyday practice
Knowledge and Qualifications:
- PGCE, QTS or equivalent teaching qualification and evidence of in-service training
- Working knowledge of special education needs including relevant curriculum and learning plans.
Skills:
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to coach and mentor LSAs, Teaching Assistants etc.
- Ability to adapt teaching and communication skills, both written and verbal according to audience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
