We are currently looking for an experienced Maths Specialist Teacher.
Teaching Personnel have an exciting opportunity to work with an outstanding school based in Middlesborough. The school are looking for a passionate Teacher to join there dedicated team.
The school work with young people who require an alternative approach to their education. Many students have been diagnosed SEND/SEMH (or are awaiting diagnosis), and/or have been excluded from at least one mainstream school.
Qualifications:
- Hold a teaching qualification (QTS/QTLS) or be willing to work towards it.
- Degree or equivalent, with Maths and English to at least Level 2.
- Specialist teaching qualification in a chosen subject (desirable).
- Strong administrative and organizational skills, with the ability to manage student behaviour effectively and demonstrate a commitment to pastoral care in an alternative education setting.
- Proven experience working collaboratively with parents, community organizations, and stakeholders to support students with diverse and challenging needs.
- Understanding of equality of opportunity, safeguarding, child protection, and inclusion issues, particularly in alternative education settings that serve vulnerable populations.
- Ability to quickly identify and address challenges faced by students, ensuring appropriate follow-up and support for their individual needs.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, tailored to engage effectively with students, parents/carers, community members, and colleagues.
- Experience teaching across the secondary age range, with a proven track record as a creative and adaptable teacher who inspires and motivates students. Familiarity with virtual learning environments is desirable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
